Setup & onboarding

How long does setup take?

60-90 seconds for the workspace. 10-15 minutes for a useful workspace with initiatives, team members, and integrations connected.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The Free tier is genuinely free, no card required. Standard and Pro both include a 14-day trial without a card.

Can I import data from another tool?

Yes. We support CSV import (for any tool that exports CSV — Notion, airfocus, Productboard, Aha!, Asana, ClickUp). The import wizard auto-detects column mappings.

What happens to my Notion roadmap if I switch?

You don't have to leave Notion. We replace only the roadmap function — keep Notion for docs, specs, and wikis. Each Roadmap OS initiative has a "Documents" field where you link the matching Notion page.

Pricing & plans

Why total-team pricing instead of per-user?

Per-user pricing makes PMs gatekeep stakeholder access. Total-team makes you invite everyone — engagement compounds. We trade short-term ARPU for long-term retention.

Will pricing increase later?

Possibly. We grandfather existing customers on annual plans for 12 months at the current rate. Monthly subscribers get 30 days notice of any increase.

Do you have an enterprise tier?

Custom pricing is available for teams >50 people. Email sabelo@roadmapos.com for a quote with annual / multi-year contracts and custom DPAs.

Is there a discount for nonprofits?

Yes. 50% off Standard and Pro. Verify with .edu email or nonprofit registration.

Currencies?

USD, EUR, GBP via Stripe; ZAR, KES via Paystack. Local PPP pricing for some emerging markets — email to inquire.

Features

Does the desktop app work offline?

Yes. The desktop app caches your data locally. Changes you make offline sync automatically when you reconnect.

What integrations do you have?

Two-way sync: Jira, GitHub, Slack, Asana, Linear. Coming Q2-Q4 2026: Notion, Trello, ClickUp, Monday, Salesforce, Zendesk.

Do you support hardware products?

Yes. Product profiles include Bill of Materials links, firmware versions, hardware revisions, certifications with auto-reminders, units shipped, failure rate, and MTBF.

Do you have an API?

Coming Q3 2026. If you need API access today, email sabelo@roadmapos.com — we may have an early-access slot.

What about webhooks?

Coming with the API in Q3 2026.

Can I embed a public roadmap on my website?

Yes — Pro tier feature. Generate a public, read-only embed of any section. Customizable theme (light/dark/auto), section visibility, and date range.

Do you support SSO?

SAML SSO is on the roadmap for Q4 2026. For now we support Google OAuth and email/password.

SOC 2?

SOC 2 Type 1 today. Type 2 in progress, expected Q4 2026.

GDPR?

Yes. EU data residency available on request. We never sell or share your data.

AI features

Whose API key do AI features use?

Yours. Bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google API key. You pay your provider directly; we don't add markup. See BYO AI key.

Why BYO instead of bundled AI?

Three reasons: you control the model, your data goes through your account (not ours), you don't pay for AI when you don't use it.

Can I disable AI features entirely?

Yes. Settings → AI → Disable. Turns off all AI menu items.

Data & privacy

Where is my data stored?

On Supabase (PostgreSQL backend). We support EU and US data residency on Pro tier. For specific regional requirements (POPIA, India DPDP), email us.

Can I export my data?

Yes, on every plan including Free. Settings → Data → Export JSON. Full export of all your data.

What's your retention policy?

Active accounts: forever. Cancelled accounts: data preserved on Free tier indefinitely. Deleted accounts: data purged within 30 days.

Daily backups?

Yes, server-side. Pro tier also supports automated weekly backups to your own S3 / Google Cloud / SFTP.

Support

Who handles support?

Sabelo (founder) personally onboards most paying customers and replies to most support emails. Same-day reply for Pro tier (4-hour SLA), best-effort for Standard, community / docs for Free.

Is there phone support?

No. We're a small team and email scales better than phone. For urgent issues, email gets the fastest response.

Do you do demos?

Yes — book a 20-minute founder-led demo at cal.com/sabelo/demo. For larger teams (>20 people), we'll spend 45 minutes if needed.

What time zone are you in?

Sabelo is in South Africa (GMT+2). Best response times are 8am-7pm SAST. We try to reply to all emails within one business day.

Other

Why are you bootstrapped?

Bootstrapped means: no investor pressure to inflate ARPU, slower hiring, smaller team. The trade is iteration speed and customer-led decisions over scale.

Why does your roadmap show your own roadmap?

Yes — we eat our own dog food. Roadmap OS's roadmap is built in Roadmap OS. See the public version at roadmapos.com/roadmap.

Can I see the source code?

Currently closed-source. Self-hosting is a real ask — if you'd actually deploy a self-hosted version, email us.

Why are you based in South Africa?

Sabelo (founder) is from Midrand. The product is built from there. 70% of paying customers are outside North America — Africa, India, Eastern Europe, SE Asia — markets that mainstream PM tools don't really serve.
