What is Ask ROS?+
Ask ROS is the agentic AI product partner built into Roadmap OS. It runs across 21 product surfaces — roadmap, OKRs, plans, capacity, G2M, feedback — and can draft initiatives, prioritise with RICE, write status reports and QBR packs, and link customer feedback to your roadmap. Every action that changes data is approval-gated, fully audit-logged, and reversible for 30 seconds.
Is Ask ROS available on every plan?+
Yes. Basic ($25/mo) ships 5 ROS write actions a month so you can try it. Pro ($49/mo) ships 500 writes a month plus the ability to bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini key for unlimited use. Business plans get pooled team credits and custom monthly caps.
What counts as a write action vs a read?+
Reads — asking ROS questions, getting summaries, exploring your roadmap — are unlimited on every plan. Only actions that change your data (drafting an initiative, scoring with RICE, writing a status report, linking feedback) count as writes against your monthly credit.
How does the approval gate work?+
Whenever ROS proposes a write, it shows you an approval chip with the exact action, fields and target row before executing. Nothing changes in your data until you approve. Approvals are logged with timestamp, user, inputs and outputs in your workspace audit log.
Can I bring my own AI API key?+
Yes on Pro and Business — bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini key and ROS uses your quota directly with no monthly credit limit. Roadmap OS never proxies or stores your key. Basic uses included credits only, to keep the entry price low.
Which AI providers does ROS support?+
OpenAI (GPT-4o, GPT-4o-mini), Anthropic (Claude Opus, Claude Sonnet), and Google Gemini (2.5 Pro, 2.5 Flash). Switch providers per workspace or per query — ROS routes to whichever you've configured.
What does ROS not do?+
ROS does not autonomously execute multi-step actions without approval, send emails to your team without you reviewing them, or push changes to external systems (Jira, GitHub, Slack) automatically. Every external write goes through your approval queue first.
